The traditional model of therapy does not serve everyone. That’s why we are excited to announce Bloom EMDR Intensive Therapy treatment programs. These therapeutic programs involve, after a month of extensive client preparation, scheduling long sessions (2 hours) close together (3 per week). 

Our services include standard and intensive EMDR therapy, catering to individuals from Aldinga and other locations across South Australia. If you can’t travel, our Online Psychology Services are here to assist you remotely.

About Our Program

We offer multiple treatment options to suit individual needs. The Standard program is comparable to roughly 11 sessions in the traditional therapy model, usually spread over 5 months or more. 

This intensive method allows us to move through the 8 phases of EMDR therapy and address the core of an issue. It’s a deliberate and efficient use of time, energy, and focus. Research supports its ability to enhance wellbeing*.

What to Expect from Intensive EMDR Therapy

The EMDR intensive therapy process consists of 3 key stages. 

EMDR Psychologist {suburb}

1. Preparation

This stage lasts 4 weeks and gives you the opportunity to prepare for Stage 2 (the EMDR Intensive stage). It gets both you and me ready for these sessions and ensures our time is used efficiently. It covers the following; 

Week 1

  • Online Assessments and Questionnaires
  • Taking a detailed history

Weeks 2-4

  • Initial 60-minute consultation
  • Educational videos on psychological concepts
  • Methods to help regulate your nervous system
  • Journal questions to capture essential information

2. Intensive & Targeted EMDR Treatment

This stage includes;

Extended, frequent therapy sessions (in person or via Zoom)

A customised resource pack to support you throughout and beyond this stage

Recordings of yoga practices to help you prepare mentally and physically for the intensive therapy, and to support relaxation and consolidation afterwards

Hello, I’m Sarah. As a clinical psychologist, EMDR therapist, and certified yoga teacher and therapist, I have over 20 years of experience in the field of psychology. I’ve worked with a wide range of clients, settings, and psychological conditions. I hold full membership with the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and The EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA). 

I focus my practice around EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) therapy, after witnessing its positive effects on many of my clients. I’ve also pursued advanced training in various psychological methods, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and neuropsychological-based therapies, which complement my EMDR work. Currently, I exclusively practise EMDR Intensive therapy to prioritise addressing the underlying issues of your mental health, without the usual distractions of day-to-day life. 

I am committed to offering tools, strategies, and concepts that assist people in overcoming psychological challenges and help them feel more at ease in their lives.
